Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably below normal in Haryana, Punjab, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 35.0°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures changed little. Departure: They were appreciably below normal in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 13.4°C recorded at Sarsawa (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 18: Weather will be mainly dry over the region.
