Workshop held at SDP College

A one-day workshop “Prerna: Achievement, Motivation and Contents” was held at SDP College for Women, here today. Mrs S. Verma, Principal of the college inaugurated the workshop. Nine participants made their presentations on various topics like positive approach in life, rights and duties, yoga, aim of human life, importance of mathematics and other subjects.

Members of the non-teaching staff were motivated to develop a passion for their profession and give their best. Resource person of the workshop R.P.S. Luther from the Associated Trainers and Management Consultants, New Delhi, gave some tips to the participants for keeping their passion alive for their profession and bringing their efficiency level to the highest. The workshop concluded with pledge by the staff to improve their performance.

Workshop on English: Keeping in view the changes made in the syllabus in 2004 and the changed examination specifications laid down by the Central Board of School Education in 2004, Oxford University Press organised workshop of new syllabus of English for class 9th and 10th at BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana, here today.

Mrs Renu Anand an English teacher, a CBSE resource person and member of CBSE, Advisory Committee, who is author of several books gave details about various changes in the syllabus. An interactive session was also held wherein teachers’ queries and problems related to teaching of English were discussed.

Good response to programme: The Faculty Development Programme launched by ISTE Chapter at Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, Ludhiana, a few weeks back is getting good response. The programme is conducted for one-and-a-half-hour every week, where internal as well as external faculty from institutes/colleges approved by the AICTE and individual members of the ISTE are eligible to attend.

At present the methods of learning are taught. A senior scientist from Mechanical Engineering Research and Development Organisation (Merado), Govt. of India, Ludhiana is also attending the programme. The queries are also being received from other management institutes in and outside the station.
