Rainfall: rain or thundershowers have occurred at most of the places in east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Nahan 8, Bangana 4, Paonta 3, Una, Sujanpurtira and Baijnath 2 each, and Kahu, Kasol, Dharampur, Shimla and Solan 1 each,

Jammu and Kashmir: Katara 2 and Jammu 1, Punjab: Balachaur 5, Amritsar and Ludhiana 2 and Nangal 1; east Rajasthan: Jaghura and Nithau 5 each, Gulabpur, Hurda, Loharia and Bagidora 4 each, Ghatol, Abhardam, Banera Mandalgarh and Aspur 3 each Gaddi, Bar Sadri, Badesar, Sangwara and Sabala 2 each, Alsuna, Sajjangarh, Mandal and Jhalwar 1 each; west Rajasthan: Jodhpur 5 Gopalgarh and Kosai 3 each, Sujan 2; east Uttar Pradesh: Balarampur 15, Bhinga 12, Lucknow 11, Chandradeepghat, Paliakalan, Mukhlishpur and Bhaturbatha 9 each, Dalmau 8, Rae Bareilly 7, Turtipar and Kankardharighat 5 each, Sultanpur and Fatehpur 4 each, Gorakhpur, Basti, Gazipur, Katarniaghat and Birdghat 3 each, Kanpur and Jaunpur 2 each, Allahabad and Ankinghat 1 each, West Uttar Pradesh: Dabri 4, Bareilly, Mainpuri and Jhansi 1 each and Uttaranchal: Dehra Dun 12, Muktesar 3, Banbasa and Uttarkashi 2 each and Almora, Hardwar and Rudraprayag 1 each.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in east Rajasthan, fell appreciably in Himachal Pradesh, fell in Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were largely below normal in east Uttar Pradesh, markedly below normal in west Uttar Pradesh, appreciably below normal in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 43.3°C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 20: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, south Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in the rest of the region.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of June 20: Generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain/thundershowers in some areas. Maximum temperature will be around 37°C.
