Heat wave conditions have abated in Punjab.
Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amount of rainfall in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Bhuntar 4 and Shimla 3, East Uttar Pradesh: Gorakhpur 2, and Uttaranchal: Dehradun 4 and Muktestwar 1.
Temperatures:
Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, fell in Punjab and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh, appreciably above normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 44.9°C recorded at Jaisalmer (Rajasthan).
