KVM swimmers shine

Ludhiana, May 15
Swimmers from the local Kundan Vidya Mandir (KVM) school reigned supreme bagging five out of 16 gold medals decided in the Ludhiana District Swimming Championship for sub-junior and junior boys and girls which began at Municipal Corporation Swimming Pool here today.

Abhishek Vats of the KVM won two gold medals (100 m free style and 100 m breast stroke in the boys III group) while Aarush Gupta, in the 100 m free style for the girls III unit clinched a gold.

Other gold medal winners of the school were Vibhor Mundipi (400 m free style in the boys I group) and Mohit Bhardwaj (200 m butterfly for boys I).

Earlier, Mr Apinder Singh Grewal, former Mayor and president, Ludhiana District Swimming Association, inaugurated the meet in which more than 150 boys and girls are taking part.
