Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have been reported at most places in Himachal Pradesh, at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, at a few places in Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Haryana and west Rajasthan. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Berthin, Bhuntar, Kasol, Rampurbushar, Shimla, Sundernagar, Sunibhajji and Una 1 each and Jammu and Kashmir: Pahalgam 3, Srinagar 2 and Quazigund 1.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in Uttaranchal, fell appreciably in Himachal Pradesh, fell in Punjab and west Rajasthan and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Rajasthan, below normal in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 43.7°C recorded at Churu (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning May 1: Rain/thundershowers are likely at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in east Uttar Pradesh. Isolated dust storms/thunderstorms are likely in Rajasthan.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of May 1: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain/thundershowers accompanied with squall in some areas. Maximum temperature will be around 37°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of May 1: Light rain is likely at a few places.

Squall with wind speed exceeding 65 kph is likely at isolated places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
