New Delhi, April 23
Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers were reported from most places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Haryana and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms were: Haryana: Jagadhari and New Delhi (Safdarjung) 3 each, Delhi Ridge and Thanesar 2 each and Chhachhrauli and Karnal 1 each.

Himachal Pradesh: Barsar, Bangana, Bhuntar, Pandoh and Solan 1 each.

Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal, Batote and Pahalgam 2 each and Katra, Quazigund and Srinagar 1 each, East Uttar Pradesh: Lucknow A.P. 1, West Uttar Pradesh: Hindon 3 and Uttaranchal: Tehri 1.

New Delhi reported hailstorm. Temperatures: Past 24 hours changes: Maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana, Punjab and west Rajasthan, fell in Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan, above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan, below normal in Punjab and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 43.9°C recorded at Dholpur (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 25: Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and Uttaranchal. Duststorms/ thunderstorms are likely at a few places in east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in west Rajasthan.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of April 25: Partly cloudy with the possibility of rain/thundershowers in some areas. Weather is likely to improve tomorrow. Maximum temperature will be around 35°C.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of April 25: Light rain is likely at a few places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
