2 BANGLADESHIS HELD: The Border Security Force nabbed two Bangladeshis who entered India from Pakistan in the Ajnala Sector under the Majitha police district on Sunday. Mohammad Hai Harab Ali and Abdul Kadir of Salaony Ganj and Sarab Ganj areas in Bangladesh were arrested by the BSF from Daria Musa Check post in the Ajnala Sector here. The BSF recovered Rs 775 in Pakistani currency, a wrist watch and Pakistan’s identity cards from them. A case under Sections 3, 34, 20 of the Indian Passport Act has been registered.Jalandhar
BAN ORDERS: Mr Ashok Gupta, District Magistrate, on Monday, banned the carrying of firearms ammunition and use of loudspeakers between 10 a.m. and 6 a.m. for two months. Use of orchestras, bands, DJ and loudspeakers, including at religious places, between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. has also been banned. Loudspeakers in the day could be used with permission.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP: The Punjab Bank Employees Federation organised a blood donation camp at Prabhat Parwana Trade Union Centre here on Tuesday. As many as 50 blood donors donated blood. The camp was inaugurated by the General Manager (Operations), State Bank of Patiala, Mr M.M Sehgal. In addition to this, uniforms and books were also distributed to 40 needy and poor students of Shankutala Bal Niketan School along with scholarships was also given to 11 students.
OPENED: Lord Krishna Bank opened its first branch in the city here on Tuesday. With the opening of this fifth branch in Punjab, the bank’s national network has reached a total of 106 branches.
UPGRADED: The Punjab and Sind Bank, Extension counter, Rajpura, has been upgraded to a full fledged branch here on Monday. The branch was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Tejveer Singh. The Zonal Manager of the bank, Mr H.S Hoon, highlighted the business progress of the bank. The SDM, Rajpura, Mr Navtej Singh, was also present on the occasion.
