Spring-summer collection for men and women
NEXTT 2000 claims to have launched, “the widest range of premium international line of shirts, trousers and suits for men and dresses for woman to catch the fancy of young, trendy and fashion conscious people in search of warmth, comfort and style.”Says Mr Iqbal Singh Brar, Men’s Designer and the man behind NEXTT 2000: “Innovation is our core strength. Apart from the widest range, there are hosts of features, which make our collection stand apart from any other brand of repute in the market. The first and foremost quality of our collection is its fits, which are the top most attributes in the off take of any garment brand. Our collection is specially designed keeping in mind the advancing modernisation and changing lifestyles.” For men, the collection offers parsley prints, turn up French cuffs, bigger cuffs, half sleeves which will be lot in fashion, shorter collar, cut away trimmed at the corners. The colours are light and fabrics include crepe, see through stripy and crushed trousers, faded and low waist denim and embroidery on the collars and cuffs.
For women, the colours are yellow, pink, fuchsia tops, dresses in laces on neck and waistline all light colours with black lace on edge. Denim skirts with pleats folded inwards with belts, designs of polka dots mixed with each other et al. W’s recommendation for the summer are sheer fabrics in functional styles, underwater colours, aqua and floral prints. They have introduced the aqualine and kasba themes for the summer. The aqualine is all about crepes, chennile and viscose in weaves and crinkle effect in colours of mystic blue, azure mauves, vivid green and coral. The cuts are flowing kurtas, cap sleeves and bias cut. The Kasba range includes clothes in earthy colours if wild rose, scarlet, tulip and flamingo in homespun fabrics and colourful tribal motif and unconventional and modern styling including kurti style cuffs, hem placements and piping in contrasts. Parx has launched the ‘Excursion range’ for men this summer. The line uses high-density compact fabric that “addresses the demands of outdoor travel”. The garments have been specially washed to get the perfect washed outlook. The range is marked with colours in earthy tones of olive, brick orange, beige and black and includes Tees, trousers, shirts and shorts apart from accessories.

Sonali Mansingka is inspired by “air”, which explains the fluidity in form that one gets to see in her creations. Trained at the London Centre for Fashion Studies, Mansigka has also done a short course at Central Saint Martins and the London College of Fashion. Her label ‘Just Urban’ is a western ready-to-wear line and currently Mansingka is hoping for a successful showing at the Lakme India Fashion week. Aiming to target the “young and the vibrant patrons of fashion”, Mansingka has created a “fun and frolic range in affordable prices” for the show. She describes it as “gold autumn leaves fused on a backdrop of wintry whites, black and wine bring together classic glamour and colours like Pimento, Mauve and pinks add a touch of romance.”

Explaining the purpose of the show, Shekhar Wadke, CEO of Cygnus said: “Cygnus means a constellation of stars and the fashion and glamour world is full of stars, which is so integral to my brand value.”
