High-velocity winds, rain lash HP Shimla, April 9 There were reports of rain and hail from various places in the state, including Kangra. The headquarter town recorded a rainfall of 0.5 mm while Sundernagar recorded 0.2 mm and Bhuntar in Kulu district recorded 3 mm of rain.The maximum temperatures remained more or less the same at all three places. The weather office has predicted more rains in the state in the next 24 hours. Palampur and its surrounding areas in Kangra district were hit by a squall, followed by showers while the Dhauladhar ranges had fresh snowfall. The higher altitude areas and other high mountain passes also experienced mild snowfall, reports reaching here said. HAMIRPUR: After a long dry spell various parts of Hamirpur district had heavy rain on Friday. It was accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms. Reports from interiors of the district stated that the areas were lashed by hailsstorms, which caused heavy damage to the wheat crop. |
