The BJP candidate from the South Delhi parliamentary constituency, Mr Vijay Kumar Malhotra, today said that the BJP-led NDA Government would have a fresh look at the issue of Unit Area Method of assessing house tax in Delhi if people voted for it.

Property tax hardship committee set up
New Delhi, April 6
The Hardship and Anomaly Committee has been constituted to consider the cases of hardship or anomalies of any individual in respect of property tax under the Unit Area Method of assessment of the property tax which has come into effect from April 1.

The ultras are known to have changed their modus operandi also. They use some pseudo names and are known to be quite friendly with the youths, especially collegians.

Ethics paper

New Delhi, April 6
There was confusion and panic in the examination hall of the Jesus and Mary College today morning after the Philosophy students found that the question paper was of an entirely different subject than the one scheduled. Mercifully, things were sorted out subsequently with the intervention of the higher ups and the right question paper distributed to the students. The students got a shock of their lives when they found that the question paper was of Ethics. 

MNC engineer held for hounding IIT ex-colleague
New Delhi, April 6
The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a software engineer, Sandeep Jain, on charges of molestation and also threatening his former colleague with dire consequences if she refused to marry him. The accused is an IIT graduate and working for a multinational company HCL-Perot systems.

Gutted engine: Rly suffers loss of Rs 1.25 cr

Sonepat, April 6
The Northern Railway is reported to have suffered a loss of about Rs 1.25 crore on account of the burning of an engine and a bogie of the Panipat-bound passenger train (1 DPM EMU) at Sandal Kalan railway station, about 5 km from here on Sunday.

Koshambi trader robbed of Rs 9 lakh

Ghaziabad, April 6
Two scooter-borne criminals looted Rs 9.40 lakh from a trader in broad daylight just outside the Bank of Baroda branch, Koshambi, under Indira Puram police station. The victim had just withdrawn the money.

MCD being financially weakened by Delhi Govt: BJP
New Delhi, March 6
The Leader of Opposition in the Standing Committee of the MCD, Mr Vijender Kumar Gupta, today alleged that the report of the Second Delhi Finance Commission had made the corporation financially weak, as it sought to take away certain financial powers which were till now vested with the civic body. The report was tabled before the Delhi Government two days back.

Sena stages dharna against fee hike by schools

New Delhi, April 6
The Shiv Sena today staged a dharna to protest against the proposed 20 per cent fee hike from the current academic session by public schools and sought the intervention of President, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, and Chief Minister, Ms. Sheila Dikshit. In a memorandum submitted to the President, Lt Governor Vijai Kapoor, the Chief Minister and Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely, the Shiv Sena said the fee hike is unjust.

No-trust move against Zila Parishad chief
Faridabad, April 6
As many as 13 of the total 18 elected members of the Zila Parishad, Faridabad, have made a move to remove the present Chairman of the Parishad, Mr Rajesh Rawat, from his post through a ‘no-confidence motion’. One member of the Parishad is under suspension.

The Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) has been set up over the country. At Delhi chapter, it has been provided at three places, Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon. The scheme is to provide comprehensive medical cover to ex-servicemen all throughout the country.

The dismissed employees of the Haryana Police, numbering around 1,600, held a state-level meeting at Gohana town, 35 km from here yesterday. The dismissed police employees resolved to campaign against the ruling Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate from Sonepat, Mrs Krishna Malik, who is the wife of the Haryana Director General of Police (DGP), Mr M S Malik.

Doabha Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Jalandhar defeated Bhupinder Khalsa School, Moga 2-0 in the opening match of the second All-India Sahibzada Ajit Singh Hockey Tournament, organised by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, at the Shivaji Stadium on Tuesday. The winners scored once in each half through Maninder Singh in the sixth minute and Gurjit Singh in the 38th minute respectively.
