45 patients operated upon Chandigarh, April 2 Though a total of 150 patients were examined
yesterday, surgery was performed on 45 patients from Punjab, Haryana and
the city. Fifteen doctors examined the patients. |
Conference on safety in anaesthesia today Chandigarh, April 2 Anaesthesiologists from all over the region will attend the conference, being held at the PGI. One of the primary aim of the conference is the safe conduct of anaesthesia so that the patient does not develop complications or any kind of side effects. Since the delivering of anaesthesia involves
administration of a large number of potent drugs and the use of
multitude equipment to monitor the functioning of vital systems in the
body, the safety aspect is very important. “Anaesthesia requires to be
tailored to the surgical procedure and adjusted according to the medical
condition of a patient and as such even a small error, if undetected,
can prove to be fatal,” said doctors. |
