And now, Arindam Chaudhuri directs a film
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, March 16
The setting could not have been any better for announcing the launch of a truly corporatised Hindi feature film in Bollywood. Planman Life announced the launch of its debut Hindi feature film, “ Rok Sako To Rok Lo” at a well attended press conference at the FICCI-Frames here yesterday.

As the film fraternity and the who’s who of the entertainment industry gathered to discuss and deliberate on the way forward, Planman Life presented a true illustration of a corporatised film backed by extensive research carried on by their consultants.

“Rok Sako To Rok Lo” is a classic story based on the romance of friendship, the spirit of adventure and the magic of timeless love.

The film announces the launch of 10 fresh and young talents in the Hindi film industry. Speaking on the occasion, the director of the film, Arindam Chaudhuri, says, “I am extremely confident that our cast will be loved by the audiences across the country. All of them are fantastic performers and are fast learners. We decided to go ahead with a fresh star cast for the characters in the film.

Surprisingly, there seems to be quite a dearth of talented fresh faces in the industry. I am sure ‘Rok Sako To Rok Lo’ will provide to the industry some faces to reckon with.”

The film has Yashodhan and Manjari in the lead roles. Both of them have a real fresh feel to them and have all the looks for the making of a star in the Hindi film industry.

Says Arindam, “What is more exciting is their performance.

They have won the hearts of all senior artistes in the film. The discipline on the sets also tempered them to rehearse, practise, and deliver their best for the film. I am sure the movie goers are going to love their performances on screen”.

One of the most significant aspects of the film is its scientifically developed and well researched script. While allowing for the best creative process to flourish, the script has been developed in the most disciplined environment to maintain sensibilities and also to be in tune with the researched realities of the market and the industry. Says Arindam, “The script, I feel, is the hero of the film. With such a thoroughly developed script, a film cannot go wrong.”

The film also scores in its strong technical support team. Cinematography has been done by award winning Santosh Thundiyil, appreciated for his works in “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” and “Pinjar”. The art direction has been done by two times National Award winning veteran art director Sameer Chanda. A conscious attempt has been made by him to maintain a very believable look, retaining all aesthetics, and do away with the plastic looks that one gets to see in most film today.

Longines has done a brilliant job with choreography. Shayam Kaushal, the veteran action director who has done films like “Lakshya” and “Ashoka” has done the action choreography and action styling for the film. The film has a dedicated team headed by ex-FTV creative head Anita Horam. The coordination of contemporary looks, vibrant colours and tasteful props have really enriched the production value of the film. It makes the film a visual treat for the audiences.

One of the strongest points of the film is its music, which has been composed by Jatin-Lalit. The music rediscovers Jatin-Lalit.

All songs sound refreshingly new. Says Jatin, “We loved working with the Planman Life team. They have a thorough understanding of music and have a very good taste.

Moreover, they were not influenced by current trends or music. They have always insisted on melodies which are timeless. The album, I am sure, will create records in Hindi music.” Lalit also echoed similar thoughts. He said. “They understood their requirement very well and trusted us. The result is very obvious. We have given our best to the album. We are very hopeful about this film’s music.”
