Tribune News Service

New Delhi, March 9
Four suspects, including a 65-yr-old woman, who were accused of killing a Delhi Police Sub-Inspector and an MTNL employee who had gone to verify some secret information with respect to a heinous crime in the Mangolpuri area of North-West Delhi, were remanded in police custody by a city court today.

Remanding the four accused, Rajinder, Joginder, their 65-year-old mother Laxmi and one Vinod Jathav, to four days’ police custody, Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav said police custody was necessary for unearthing the criminal conspiracy, recovering the belongings of the deceased and taking samples for conducting the DNA test. The Metropolitan Magistrate directed the police to produce the accused in court on March 12 after conducting a medical test.

The four had been arrested by the Delhi police yesterday. The fifth accused, Vinod, another son of Laxmi, is absconding.

The accused had surrounded Crime Branch SI Satish Kumar, who was accompanied by MTNL employee Vijay Kumar Swamy, while they were taking down the registration number of their car and strangulated them after they came to know that one of them was a policeman and could put them in trouble.

The three brothers along with Jathav, thereafter, took the bodies in a van and threw them after severing their heads. They partly burnt the heads in order to destroy their identity and threw them in the Nangloi area here.
