Rainfall:
Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures changed little.

Departure: They were markedly above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan, above normal in east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 34.8°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures changed little.

Departure: They were below normal in Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 7.3°C recorded at Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of March 6: Rain or snow likely at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 6 2004: Mainly clear sky. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 29°C and 13°C, respectively.
