BJP trashes UAM report, threatens stir

The BJP unit of the Delhi Pradesh today declared that the Unit Area Method (UAM) for assessment and collection of property tax in the Capital was unconstitutional and baseless. The Municipal Valuation Committee (MVC) did not discuss the ground reality while preparing the report of the UAM.

Married woman raped, murdered
Ghaziabad, March 1
A married woman is believed to have been raped and then strangulated in Loni. In Rajiv Garden Colony of Loni, under Indirapuri police post area, Praveen, 21, wife of Zahir, was found strangled. Her half-naked body was found by her husband when he returned home in the evening. She was bleeding from the nose.

CM urged to order vigilance probe on prize issue
Sonepat:
The Haryana Students Welfare Association today urged Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala to order a vigilance probe into the complaints of the girl students of Hindu Girls College, Sonepat about the giving of Rs 501 instead of Rs 1,100 as announced in the annual prize distribution function held on February 26. And the association also demanded to take stern action against the college authorities for duping the girl students on this account.
