Parents of schoolkids cry for Sudhar Yojna

New Delhi: The parents of poor children studying in MCD schools today demonstrated outside the Town Hall and demanded that if the Congress is not interested in improving the condition of the MCD schools, then the Minister of State of Sports, Vijay Goel should be allowed to continue his School Sudhar Yojna.

The demonstrators felt that it is a good scheme under which the condition of as many as 12 MCD schools has been improved during last few months. Not only this, the students are also given exercise books free of charge in these schools.

Mr Goel said that the condition of the MCD schools is apparently very poor. There are no desks, water coolers, chairs etc and the children are forced to sit on the floor even during winter.

He said that the government should provide trousers in winter but only shorts are given to them.

He said that the quality of the mid-day meal given to the students is also doubtful. TNS
