Kathak danseuse to perform on Feb 27
Chandigarh, February 22
The Pracheen Kala Kendra will organise a special programme featuring an internationally acclaimed Kathak danseuse of the Jaipur gharana, Jayant Kastuar, on February 27 at Tagore Theatre. He will be accompanied by Naushad Ahmed Khan (tabla), Indu Prakash (vocal) and Abdul Sami Khan (sarod).

Rose Garden trees fall prey to vandalism
Trees at Zakir Rose Garden here are falling victim to vandalism in the form of graffiti.
Having played a safe haven for lovers for years, the garden now shows signs of degradation, inflicted on it by the so-called “(nature) lover” visitors, who have tried to “immortalise their love bond” by inscribing their names on tree trunks.

‘Operation Rainbow’ restores their colours of life

It was a special day for the local Civil Hospital as operations by a team of doctors from Canada to give a “new face” to children suffering from deformities began today.
Six doctors along with nurses, all associated with Operation
Rainbow, Canada, a non-government organisation, came
well-equipped to perform at least 100 corrective surgeries of
cleft lip and cleft palate over a period of 10 days, free of
cost.
