Rainfall: Rain or snow has been reported at most places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal, Rain or thundershowers have been reported at most places in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in Rajasthan. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms are: Haryana: Chhachhrauli, Chandigarh, Sonepat and Thanesar 5 each, Ambala and Karnal 4 each, Kalka, Nilokheri, Panipat and Pehowa 3 each and Guhla and Panchkula 2 each; Himachal Pradesh: Shimla 6, Berthin, Kahu, Nahan, Padoh, Sunibhajji, Sundernagar and Solan 5 each, Bhuntar, Bangana, Kasol and Sujanpurtira 4 each, Arki, Dhundhi, Kangra, Nadaun and Rampurbushar 3 each, Bhang, Bharwain, Dehragopipur, Guler, Nagrotasurain and Solangnala 2 each and Ghamroor 1; Jammu and Kashmir: Batote 4, Banihal and Jammu 2 each and Quazigund 1; Punjab: Nangal and Patiala 4 each, Ludhiana 2 and Adampur and Halwara 1 each; east Uttar Pradesh: Allahabad and Varanasi A.P. 2 each and Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Sultanpur 1 each; west Uttar Pradesh: Sarsawa 5; and Uttaranchal: Tehri 4, Dehradun 2 and Mukteshwar and Pantnagar 1 each.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Himachal Pradesh, fell in east Rajasthan, rose appreciably in Uttar Pradesh and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were below normal in Himachal Pradesh, markedly above normal in Haryana and east Uttar Pradesh, appreciably above normal in Punjab and west Rajasthan and above normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 6.4°C recorded in Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of January 25: Rain or snow is likely at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain/thundershowers will occur at many places in Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Haryana and Punjab and at isolated places in Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain or snow is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal during the next 24 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 25: Mainly cloudy sky with possibility of rain/thundershowers in some areas. Mist/fog till forenoon. Minimum temperature will be around 9°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of January 25: Light or moderate rain is likely at a few places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
