Police pat themselves for better detection rate in 2003

Despite an increase in the number of cases registered in 2003 in the New Delhi range- comprising of New Delhi, East and North-East districts-the police claimed to have achieved a better detection rate. The detection rate in 2003 was 58.16 per cent in
comparison to 53.12 per cent in 2002.

Gates of residential colonies to remain open till 11 pm

Kidnapped man rescued from well
Sonepat, January 12
A man was rescued alive from a well three days after he fell into it on the Sonepat-Rathdhanna road, about 7 km from here today. According to a report, the man, identified as Bhopal from Almora (Uttaranchal), was in a semi-conscious condition. He was immediately hospitalised and is progressing well. It is suspected that he was kidnapped and pushed into the well beating him up.
