Flame rages across
the BASECO slum colony in Manila on Monday. More than 20,000
persons were left homeless in a seven-hour blaze that swept through
this slum colony in the Philippine capital. No deaths or injuries were reported, but the blaze that started late on Sunday reduced to ashes more than 2,500 makeshift homes on a man-made island, part of a closed state-run shipyard complex.
