Kharkhauda BDPO accountant gets suspension orders Sonepat, December 4 Block development and panchayat officer Virender Yadav and head clerk Hari Prakash were earlier suspended in the matter. The shops were auctioned on October 3. As alleged by some members of the block samiti, legal and required formalities like advance publicity of the auction through new papers and public announcements were not made by the authorities concerned. The entire exercise was for benefiting some people. The matter was raised in the meeting of the Zila Parishad by member Pritam Khokhar. After the meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, mr Rajiv Ranjan, conducted a preliminary inquiry and reportedly noticed irregularities in the auction. Meantime, five members of the block samiti also lodged a complaint with the district authorities, giving details of the alleged irregularities in the auctioning procedure and demanding action against the erring officials and members of the samiti involved in the matter. The inquiry report of the Additional Deputy Commissioner and the complaints of the members of the samiti were sent to the government through the office of the Deputy Commissioner for further necessary action. The suspension of three officials has created panic among other block samiti members, including the Chairman of the samiti. However, the government has so far not taken any decision on cancellation of the auction of the shops whereas the complainants, who are members of the samiti have demanded cancellation of the auction due to which the samiti is bound to incur losses. |
