Shyamlal beat Venkateshwara

A dashing knock of 94 by Chander Mohan Sharma (94, 10x4, 112b) and deadly bowling by Vinay Tewatia (4 for 15) helped Shyam Lal College (E) beat Venkateshwara College by 68 runs in the Inter-College Cricket Tournament at the Delhi University ground.

Scores: Shyam Lal College: 173 in 38.5 overs (Chander Mohan Sharma 94, Amit Kumar 22, Nikhil Punia 4 for 29, Sanchit Jain 2 for 25, Rohit Gupta 2 for 35).

Venkateshwara College: 105 in 32 overs (Rohit Gupta 37 n o, Vinay Tewatia 4 for 15, Sunder Singh 3 for 21, Arshad 2 for 15).

JRA beat Haryana

JRA defeated Haryana by 83 runs in the DG Phadkar Memorial Cricket Tournament at the Teri Oval.

Scores: JRA: 209 for 8 in 25 overs (Sriram 34, Vikram Singh 25, Vaibhav 19 n o, T Shiv Kumar 3 for 29, Kamal Singh 2 for 55). Haryana: 126 all out in 22.3 overs (Puneet 40, Rohan 3 for 15).

Global Vantedge win

Global Vantedge defeated Hudco by 83 runs in the Eventus Cup Cricket Tournament. Hudco scored 142 for 6 in 22 overs.

Scores: Global Vantedge: 225 for 2 in 25 overs (Manan Vashisht 96 n o, Prakash Toppo 72, Shashi Bhushan 1 for 33).

Salwan Boys sail into Sistani semis

Sawan Saini (4 for 15) and Arun Chaudhary (3 for 18) produced devastating bowling spells to help defending champions Salwan Boys School defeat Meera Model School by five wickets and entered the semi-final of the H S Sistani Memorial Inter-School Cricket Tournament at the Khalsa School ground, Lajpat Nagar.

Scores: Meera Model: 110 all out in 22.2 overs (Sanjay Kumar 30, Sawan Saini 4 for 15, Arun Chaudhary 3 for 18).

Salwan Boys: 113 for 5 in 12.3 overs (Gaurav Chabra 34, Narender Singh 30, Rohit Saini 30 n o, Nikhil Kumar 3 for 30).

St. Columba’s enter last four

St. Columba’s School beat Manav Bharati School by 145 runs and entered the semi-final of the Frank Anthony Inter-School Cricket Tournament at the Frank Anthony Public School ground. Manav Bharati School scored 210 all out in 29 overs.

Scores: St. Columba’s: 355 for 7 in 35 overs (Vatsal Kumar 103, Shivam Sharma 71, Joel Trinidad 57, Ankit Sehrawat 3 for 33).

Srishti races to gold in DDA Roller Skating Championship

New Delhi, November 20
Srishti topped in the speed skating event among girls in the ninth DDA Roller Skating Championship at the Maj. Dhyan Chand Sports Complex.
Anushikha, Barbie, Akshita, Anusha Sahani, Charul and Simrita Sahani were the other winners.

In the boys section, Ansh won the event, followed by Juwesh Rawal, Ketan, Rohan, Rahul, Ram Prakash and Driganash.

Three-year-old Ritesh Dutta was adjudged the “best skater”. In artistic skating, Rushal, Sahil, Nilesh Bajaj, Pranav, Aditya, Nidant, Anusha Sahani, Akansha and Smirita Sahani won the golds.

In roller hockey for boys, Riyan School, Rohini took the first position while Talkatora Ring finished second.

Riyan School also topped the girls roller hockey, with Air Force Bal Bharati finishing second. Punj Skating Academy claimed the third position. Mr S. Mola and Mr Gulratan Rathor gave away the prizes.

Salwan girls annex volleyball title

Salwan girls defeated Salwan Public School (Afternoon) to lift the girls title in the seventh Salwan Inter-School Volleyball Tournament at the Salwan School court, Rajinder Nagar.

In the boys section, DAV Public School, Pushpanjli beat Mira Model School, Janakpuri in four games.

G D Salwan Public School principal Mangla Sahni gave away the prizes.

Vikas of DAV Public School and Pushpanjali and Nirjala of Salwan girls were adjudged the best players of the tournament.

Adventure sports carnival in full swing

Exciting and daring sporting events like bungee jump, trampoline catapult, wall climb and obstacle course are staple events of the on-going “Mountain Dew Xtreme Zone Sports Carnival” in Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Mr Praveen Krishnnaiah, who has conceptualised Xtreme Zone, said trained professionals have been hired to conduct each of the sporting activities and since all the activities involve a risk factor, state-of-the-art safety measures for each sport have been arranged. He said the idea was to give the participants a “tast of adventure sports with minimum risk”. He said plans were on the anvil to bring more variants of adventure sports to India to enable the adventure sports enthusiasts experience the fun and excitement of their leisure.

Zara beat Jindal Power and Steel

Zara defeated Jindal Power and Steel 7-6 to take their points tally to three in the Indian Open Polo Championship at the Jaipur polo ground.

McDowell’s Signature and Jindal are at the second position with two points each while Haryana Club have one point.

Satinder Garcha, Dhruvpal Godara (2) and Gerardo Mazzini (4) were scorers for Zara while Vishal Singh, Santiago Gastimbide (3) and Samir Suhag (2) scored for Jindal Power and Steel.

Friday’s fixture: Jindal vs Haryana (2 pm)— Jaipur Polo ground.

Kenjom lifts singles title

Dr Kenjom of North Eastern Sector defeated Shri Sanjeev Dhoundia of Central Sector 6-1, 6-3 to clinch the singles title in the CRPF Inter-Sector Tennis Tournament at the Old JNU Campus court.

Training range beat North-Eastern Sector 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 to lift the doubles title. Twelve teams, representing different sectors of the CRPF, participated in the eight-day long championship. Additional Director General (Hqrs) Himanshu Kumar gave away the prizes.

Mayapuri trounced Ashoka Club by 131 runs in the DDCA A-II Division League at the Yamuna Sports Complex ground.

Scores: Mayapuri: 175 for 5 in 40 overs (Balinder Singh 39, Piyush Negi 36, Saurabh Srivastava 28 n o). Ashoka Club: 44 all out in 17.1 overs (Jasveer Anand 19, R S Tripathi 4 for 9, Mayank Sethi 3 for 9). In an A-I Division match, K N Colts beat Young Cricketers by 55 runs at the Yamuna ground I.

Scores: K N Colts: 215 for 9 in 40 overs (Joginder Singh 56, Tara Chand 42, Karan Bisth 4 for 35).

Young Cricketers: 160 all out in 35 overs (Sumit Kapoor 26, Ashu Sharma 4 for 29, Pradeep Kumar 2 for 28).

Young Association beat Pelican by three wickets in an A-I Division match.
