Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region. Temperatres: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures changed little. Departure: They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 37.6°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. Depature: They were appreciably below normal in Punjab, appreciably above normal in east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 12.6°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 21: Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry over the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 21: Mainly clear sky. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 33°C and 17°C, respectively.
