IPS book bank for economically weak students New Delhi, October 4 The project aims at helping deserving students from the economically weaker section of the society. The IPS is starting with an annual contribution of Rs.6,00,000, which shall be enhanced over the next few years. In the first phase, IPS has selected 10 colleges, including Dr Zakir Hussain College (Morning & Evening), Shyama Prasad College (For women), Bhagini Nivedita College (For women), Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (Morning), Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College (Evening), Mata Sundri College (For women), Rajdhani College, Maitri College and Gargi College (For women). More colleges are likely to be included under this project in the coming years. Prof Deepak Nayyar is the chief patron of the IPS book bank. Speaking on the occasion Mr Bedi said: “This is one the cherished aims and objective of the society, which the founder members of the society laid down in its Memorandum of Association. Thus, the launching of the book bank by the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University is a true tribute to the founder members of the society.” Also present at the occasion were Mr Ramesh Suri, Vice-President, IPS, and Mr G. S. Gujral, CBE President of UK Chapter of IPS. |
