puts an end to residents’ misery

The Delhi High Court has asked
the DDA and the MCD to provide an alternate cremation ground in the
relocated colony at Sector 16 A in Dwarka. The order spells relief for
residents of the area who had been complaining against the proximity
of the cremation ground to their residential quarters and
government-run schools.

scheme to settle power theft cases

The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran
Nigam has introduced a ‘Settlement Out of Court’ scheme to settle
the disputed cases of power theft as well as recovery of the power bills
arrears in the state. According to a report, the scheme would continue
until October 31 and the parties desiring settlement of disputes under
the scheme would be exempted from the payment of fine up to 50 per cent.

launched a manhunt for the arrest of a youth, Ikramuddin, who was
allegedly involved in a murder case in the Madipur area yesterday. The
