Rain in Haryana, Punjab

Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in east Rajasthan, at many places in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at a few places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in west Rajasthan. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Haryana: Tajewala 6, Uchana 5, Ambala, Jind, Kalka and Rewari 3 each, Loharu 2 and Chandigarh, Dadupur and Dadri Toye 1 each, Himachal Pradesh: Surgani 3, Dhundhi, Khairi, Kangra and Paonta 2 each and Barsar, Bangana and Ghamroor 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Katra 5, Patti 3 and Basoli 2, Punjab: Madhopur 6, Nangal and Patiala 2 each and Malerkotla 1, east Rajasthan: Bhainsroadgarh 12, Rainbasera 11, Jhalawar 10, Rawatbhata 9, Kotputli and Nimbahera 8 each, Dungla and Kallisind 7 each, Chhipabroad, Moreldam, Uraidam and Vegan 5 each, Bamanwas, Barisadari, Chittorgarh, Gangrar and Talabshahi 4 each, Devli, Gambhiridam, Kota A.P. Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of September 18: Mainly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain/thundershowers, likely to be heavy in some areas.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of September 18: Light to moderate rain will occur at a few places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.

Heavy rain in Shimla

Chandigarh, September 16
A heavy rain lashed Chandigarh and Shimla since last night throwing the normal life out of gear.
Reports here said forward wards of the Keran Sector in Jammu and Kashmir recorded 15 mm of rainfall while the Rohtang Pass about 24 mm rainfall by this morning.

The southwest monsoon, now in its last leg, caused light to moderate rain at several places in the North west region in the past 24 hours.

Shimla, the capital town of HP reported 2.5 mm rainfall by this morning had another 32 mm rainfall during the day today.

Ambala in Haryana reported 33 mm rainfall while Kalka, the gateway to HP 29 mm rainfall. Narnaul and Panchkula each reported 0.2 mm rainfall and Karnal 1.4 mm rain.

Patiala in Punjab reported having received 19.4 mm rainfall while the Bhakra dam area 17.00 mm rainfall. — UNI
