Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Haryana, east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Weather was dry in west Rajasthan. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Bahadurgarh 7, Naraingarh and Panipat 6 each, Ayangar, Chandigarh, Jind, Jhirka, New Delhi (Palam) and Samalkha 3 each, Ballabhgarh, Mahendergarh and Thanesar 2 each and Bawal, Dhansa, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Jhajjar, Kaithal, Pataudi and Uchana 1 each, Himachal Pradesh: Khairi 6, Barsar and Paonta 5 each, Bangana, Chauraha and Rajgarh 3 each, Chamba 2 and Dadahu and Sarkaghat 1 each. Jammu and Kashmir: Bhoond 9, Basoli 4 and Jammu 1, Punjab: Kapurthala 5, Jalandhar 2 and Amritsar, Balachaur, Nakodar and Ropar 1 each, East Rajasthan: Indergarh 6, Urmilasagar 5, Anta and Bayana 4 each, Atru, Baran, Chhabra, Jagardam, Laxmangarh and Talabshahi 3 each, Galiakot, Kishanganj, Pahari, Pipalda and Ramgarh 2 each and Banera, Bari, Dhambola, Kotputli, Shahpura and Todabhim 1 each. Forecast valid until the morning of September 7: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana and east Rajasthan and at isolated places in west Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely in Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of September 7: Monsoon has been active in Delhi. Mainly cloudy sky with rain/thundershowers in some areas.
