Deepak Trikha invited to stage play in Lahore
Our Correspondent

Rohtak, September 5
Mr Vishav Deepak Trikha, an eminent theatre artiste and director of the famous comedy play, Gadhe ki Barat, has been invited to stage his play in the “World Performing and Visual Arts Festival” to be held at Lahore (Pakistan) from October 17 to October 26.

Mr Trikha claimed that it was the only play from Haryana, which had established itself as a masterpiece of healthy entertainment and had been staged 152 times all over the country by now.

He said he had got this invitation from the same organisation in 2001 but the play could not be staged as the Theatre Festival was cancelled in view of the attack on World Trade Centre and the subsequent discontinuation of the bus and rail services.

Mr Faizaan Peerzada, organiser of the festival and president of Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop, in his letter to Mr Trikha, stated that he had organised 14 international theatre, dance, music and puppet festivals in which around 3,000 artistes from 350 groups of 56 countries had participated since 1992.
