Biotechnology fest tomorrow

Chandigarh, August 20
The department of Biotechnology at GGDSD College, Sector 32, in collaboration with the Punjab Council of Science and Technology, will be organising COSMID-2003, a biotechnology festival, on August 22, a press note said here today.

Speakers on the occasion will include Dr Naresh Kumar, IMTECH, Dr Arvind Kapoor, Nunhems, Gurgaon, Dr Kulwinder Singh Saini, Ranbaxy, Gurgaon, and Mr G.S.Bhatia, president of the Mohali Industries.

An inter-college quiz contest and poster and collage-making contests will also be organised on the occasion.

Mr and Miss Brains will also be chosen from among the participants.

Celebrations at APJ school

Students of APJ Public School, Kharar, take part in Janmashthmi celebrationChandigarh, August 20
Janmashthmi was celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm in APJ Public School, Kharar. On this occasion maximum number of students participated. Ten tableaux were set up. The life of Lord Krishna was depicted in ‘Krishna Leela’.

For the students Janmashthmi was nothing less than Divali. The main attraction was the glowing visage of young Lord Krishna. His hands just out of a pot full of white butter ready to be savoured was the pick of the day.
