Health employees give memorandum to FM
Ludhiana, July 15 The delegation was led by Mr Karnail Singh, Mr Didar Singh, Mr Harjinder Singh and Mr K.S. Garcha. The sore employees said despite various reminders, they were not paid a single penny by the department. The employees who have not been paid come under the Planned Scheme of the Central Government. They said they had been regularly in touch with officials at Chandigarh who maintained that because of a procedural delay, their salaries could not be released. Mr Harjinder Singh, an employee, said time and again they had been given assurances by the officials and bureaucrats that their salaries would soon be released and that they should not resort to any agitation, but nothing concrete had been done. Hundreds of non-paid paramedical employees are working in the family planning, tuberculosis control and leprosy control projects of the Health Department. The members also demanded that their budget plan should be formulated by the state government instead of the Union Government. OC |
