Talk on health awareness

Ludhiana, July 3
A talk on health awareness, specially concerning heart diseases, was organised by Paryavarn Vahini, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India at Bachatt Bhavan, Mini Secretariat, Ludhiana, yesterday. Dr Nitin Sood, former consultant and physician and heart specialist of Escort Hospital, spoke on the causes of the common heart ailments and their prevention.

He emphasised the role of simple precautions like maintenance of normal body diet, disciplined eating habits, regular exercise, routine medical checkups, blood pressure and diabetes control, etc. He referred to prevalence myths on heart diseases and clarified the same. He spoke on the importance of simple measures and precautions to be taken on diabetes.

These tips if followed can help to reduce the complications of diabetes like kidney involvement’s, heart problem, paralysis, never damages foot infection and amputations. The patients were also provided free counselling, blood sugar testing and ECG were done free of cost. The members of the Pariyavaran Vahini, Mr Anupal Nanda, Mr H.S. Randhawa, Mr Krishn Lal Malik, Mr Kashmir Singh and Mr Shekhr Gupta, were presented. The function was presided over by Mr S.S. Gurjjar, ADC (D), Ludhiana.
