Smooth sailing for seeded players

It was smooth sailing for the all seeded players in the ongoing The Fort Saint Soldiers Total Tennis AITA (TS) Championship being held at Saint Soldiers Divine Public School, Sector 16, Panchkula.

Top seed Nitish Raj of Uttar Pradesh won 6-3, 7-5 against Deepinder Singh of Chandigarh while second-seeded Rajkanwar Singh of Chandigarh outplayed qualifier Hargobind Singh of BCS Shimla 6-2, 6-2. Vikas Doshi overcame Rohan Bhandari 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in a tough match which lasted for over three hours.

According to Mr Devender Kapoor, tournament director, the tournament was inaugurated by Mr Amitabh Singh Chandel, managing director the Fort Ramgarh Heritage Resort. The second rounds matches in the boys’ category will start tomorrow at 7.30 am while the girls’ matches will start at 9 am
