Heavy rain may lash Himachal

Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at many places in Haryana and east Uttar Pradesh, at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cm are: Haryana: Chandigarh and Sirsa A.P. 6 each, Guhla and Naraingarh 3 each, Jind 2 and Hisar, Jagadhri, Pehowa and Thanesar 1 each, Himachal Pradesh: Dadahu 6, Rajgarh 4, Nahan, Pandoh, Paonta Sahib and Sujanpurtira 3 each, Arki, Kasol, Nadaun, Shimla, Sundernagar and Una 2 each and Bangana, Berthin, Bharwain, Kandaghat and Solan 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu and Quazigund 1 each, Punjab: Amritsar 3, east Rajasthan: Umedsagar 7, Mundawar and Sepu 3 each and Dholpur, Jaisamand, Kotputli, Kotkasim, Pilani and Urmilasagar 1 each, west Rajasthan: Suratgarh 2, east Uttar Pradesh: Shardanagar 18, Katerniaghat 11, Palliakalan 6, Chandradeepghat 5, Hardoi 4, Lakhimpur Kheri 3, Allahabad and Mukhlispur 2 each and Ankinghat, Chhatnag, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Neemsar and Sultanpur 1 each, west Uttar Pradesh: Moradabad 3 and Bareilly 1, and Uttaranchal: Banbasa 7, Nainital and Pantnagar 5 each, Mukteshwar and Joshimath 4 each, Hardwar and Uttarkashi 2 each and Dehradun and Pithoragarh 1 each.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose largely in Punjab, rose in east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably below normal in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Uttaranchal, above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 41.9°C recorded at Churu (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 29: Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in the rest of the region.

Heavy rainfall warning: Isolated heavy rain is likely in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal during the next 48 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of June 29: Partly cloudy sky. Rain or thundershowers are likely in some areas. Maximum temperature will be around 37°C.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of June 29: Light to moderate rain is likely at a few places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
