Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Sundernagar 3, Kasol 2 and Mandi, Paonta, Solangnala and Sujanpur Tira 1 each, East Rajasthan: Danpur and Loharia 3 each, Ghatol 2 and Banswara, Jhalawar and Salumber 1 each; West Rajasthan: Marwad 4 and Uttaranchal: Dehra Dun 3 and Pantnagar 1.

Temperatures: past 24-hour change: Maximum temperatures rose in west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan, above normal in Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in east Uttar Pradesh. The highest temperature in the region was 47.8°C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 19: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in south Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of June 19: Partly cloudy sky with dust haze. Duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in some areas. Maximum temperature will be around 41°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi: forecast valid until the morning of June 19: Duststorm/thunderstorm with light rain is likely at a few places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
