Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have been reported at most places in Uttaranchal, at a few places in east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of rainfall in cms. are East Uttar Pradesh: Gorakhpur one and Uttaranchal: Mukteshwar, Pantnagar and Tehri one each.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, fell in east Uttar Pradesh and changed a little elsewhere. Departures: They were markedly above normal in Haryana, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and above normal in the rest of the region.

The highest temperature in the region was 49°C recorded at Churu (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of June 7: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal. Isolated dust storm/thunderstorm is likely in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of June 7: Heatwave conditions have abated. Mainly clear sky with dust haze. Dust storm/thunderstorm accompanied by squall is likely in some areas. Maximum temperature will be around 44°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of June 7: Heatwave conditions have abated. Dust storm/thunderstorm with light rain is likely at a few places. Squall with wind speed exceeding 65 kmph is likely at isolated places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
