Three hurt in yet another fire

In yet another fire, the fourth in less than two weeks, three persons were seriously injured in Guru Nanak Street of Madhopuri area early this morning. The condition of all three is learnt to be serious and they have been admitted to Christian Medical College and Hospital here.

Former minister Garcha’s bail plea dismissed

The Special Judge Mr Inderjit Kaushik, today dismissed the anticipatory bail applications filed by former Technical Education Minister Jagdish Garcha (MLA) accused of cheating, land grabbing and amassing property disproportionate to known sources of income.

PSEB seeks more funds to meet power demand

The PSEB has sought additional assistance of Rs 50 crore every month from June to purchase power to meet the demand for power supply in the state, particularly for tubewells. With the rise in mercury, the demand for power has been rising and on May 21, it was 960.20 lakh units, the highest this year.
