Medical waste: MC to act against clinics Sonepat, May 23 According to the Chairman of the council, Satpal Goyal, the Pollution Control Board has directed all hospitals, clinics and dispensaries in the town to make arrangements of their own to properly dispose of medical wastes. But a number of clinics, including the veterinary dispensaries have been found throwing medical wastes in open areas, mainly behind Subzimandi, Malviya School, along the sides of Kakroi road and under a bridge near the old DC road. Though a number of hospitals in the town have already made arrangements for proper disposal of medical wastes after the PCB enforced the rules relating to medical wastes way back in 1999, still a number of clinics, laboratories and dispensaries are reportedly throwing their wastes in the open creating health hazards. |
