Play traces the journey of thoughts via a difficult past
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, May 10
The Bard himself described the world as a stage and the inhabitants as actors. Taking cue from this certitude that there is an actor in each one of us, students, academics, bureaucrats and business managers have come together to stage a play in the Capital’s Shri Ram Centre.

Based on the theme of a life ravaged by communal riots, the theatrical ‘Ae Kaash’ is the brainchild of the group Rangoli, Colours of Expression, which

brings out the mettle of professionals who are more likely to occupy the spectator’s bench.

And these ‘actors’ between 18 and 50 from diverse backgrounds united by the love for creativity and communication are men and women who in between their mundane chores seek to bring the dormant desires to the surface. Rangoli, which boasts of academicians, technocrats and even business minds, has undertaken the experiment to discover and evolve the creative inner self.

The play scheduled to be staged on the occasion of Mother’s Day on May 11 has been scripted and directed by Sammer Anand, Director, Rangoli. The play is a story of individuals affected by communal riots, with shattered dreams but undying hope. It traces the journey of thoughts through a difficult past towards an optimistic future.

The audience will get to watch histrionics of people who unlike celebrated actors will be easy to identify with.
