Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, fell in west Uttar Pradesh and changed little in east Uttar Pradesh. Departures: They were markedly below normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal, appreciably below normal in Punjab, west Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and below normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 41.6°C recorded at Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of May 6: Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Isolated dust storm or thunderstorm is likely in Haryana, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood until the morning of May 6: Hot day with dust haze. Maximum temperature will be arund 38°C.
