Maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, rose in east Rajasthan and changed little
elsewher. Departures: They were appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, below normal in Punjab, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthasn and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 39.6°C recorded at Barmer and Churu (Rajasthan). Past 24 hours’ change:
Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh, rose in Punjab and east Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, above normalin Punjab and Uttar pradesh and normal in Jammu and Kashmir. The lowest temperature in the plains was 13.4°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).
