Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: past 24 hours’ change: Maximum temperatures rose in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed little else where.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 40.1°C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan, above normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 13.0°C recorded at Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of March 30: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and Uttaranchal. Isolated duststorm/ thunderstorm is likely in Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 30: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of thundery development in some areas. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 33°C and 19°C, respectively.
