Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Bhang and Solangnala 2 each and Nadaun and Sujanpurtira 1 each and Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal 3. Snowfall report in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Dhundhi 52 and Patsio 8. Shimla and Banihal (Jammu and Kashmir) reported hailstorm.

Temperatures: past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, fell in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and changed little elsewhere.

Departure: They were above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan, below normal in Himachal Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 36.1°C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 12.9°C recorded at Ludhiana.

Forecast valid until the morning of March 19: Mainly clear sky. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 32°C and 16°C, respectively.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi: forecast valid until the morning of March 19: Sky will be mainly clear.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
