Remove places of worship from Yamuna bed: HC
New Delhi, March 6
The Delhi High Court has ordered the Centre and the city authorities to remove all unauthorised structures, including hutments and places of worship, from the Yamuna riverbed as well as from its embankments within two months. It ordered that the river and its surroundings be kept free from pollution and environmental degradation.

Registrar’s plea to review arrest order quashed
Rohtak, March 6
The Additional District Judge, Dr Shiva Sharma, today rejected the application filed by Dr Ajay Kumar Rajan, Registrar, Maharshi Dayanand University, appealing for a review of the court order dated February 25 wherein he was held guilty of disobedience of the court order and his detention in civil prison was ordered besides attachment of property of the Registrar’s office.

Three die in bus-jeep collision

In a tragic incident, three persons were killed and three injured seriously when their jeep collided with a private bus at Mangolpuri in West Delhi on Wednesday night. While Sunny (12), Manish (10) and an unidentified person died on the spot, Amit, Vijay and another person were admitted to a hospital with serious injuries.

Delhi Government has failed to achieve Plan targets: BJP 
New Delhi, March 6
The Delhi Pradesh BJP has criticised the Congress-administered Government of NCT of Delhi for failing to achieve the Plan targets. Commenting on the performance of the government under the Annual Plan 2002-2003 and sectoral highlights of draft Plan 2003-2004, the Leader of the Opposition in Delhi Legislative Assembly, Mr Jagdish Mukhi, on Thursday said only 67.7 per cent of the Plan outlay had been spent till February 2003.

The transformation of fuel to Compress Natural Gas in the national Capital has replaced approximately 531 kiloliters of diesel and 315 kiloliters of petrol, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

The recent ruling of the Delhi High Court asking the Residents Welfare Associations to check illegal constructions has received mixed reactions from executive members of the RWAs of different colonies. The Bench of the court observed that many flat owners do not join the Residents Welfare Association.

Rs 26 cr spent on welfare works
Bhiwani, March 6
The district administration has claimed to have completed several development works with a sum of Rs 26 crore in the district during the first and the second phase under the Sarkar Aapke Dwar programme. Speaking to the mediapersons here today, Deputy Commissioner Harpal Singh Malik said that under the programme and announcements made by the Chief Minister, the development works had been completed during the stipulated time limit.

Ex-serviceman held for selling dream jobs
Ghaziabad, March 6
A dismissed ex-serviceman, who used to defraud people by promising them cushy jobs has been arrested by Vijay Nagar police. Sunil Sharma, who used to forge documents for promising employment to people for Rs 50,000 to Rs 75,000 each was arrested by the police at Chanakya crossing. He belongs to Nurpur Ki Safaya, Gulawati in Bulandshahr.
