Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Punjab and at a few places in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms are: Haryana: Thanesar 1, Himachal Pradesh: Kangra 7, Bhang and Dharamsala 6 each, Bhuntar 5, Shimla and Una 3 each, Sundernagar 2 and Nahan 1, Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal 13, Pahalgam 6, Srinagar 5, Batote 4 and Jammu 1, Punjab: Dasuya 3, Adampur and Halwara 2 each and Amritsar and Ludhiana 1 each, West Uttar Pradesh: Sarsawa 1 and Uttaranchal: Dehra Dun 3, Tehri 2 and Pantnagar 1. Snowfall report (cms): Himachal Pradesh: Dhundhi 80, Patsio 54 and Solangnala 22. Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) and Amritsar (Punjab) reported hailstorm.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures exceptionally fell in Himachal Pradesh, largely fell in Punjab and Uttaranchal, appreciably fell in Haryana, fell in Jammu and Kashmir and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were largely below normal in Himachal Pradesh, markedly below normal in Punjab and Uttaranchal, appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, markedly above normal in east Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in west Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in east Uttar Pradesh. The highest temperature in the region was 35.7C recorded at Barmer (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose in east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and changed a little elsewhere. Departures: They were largely above normal in Rajasthan, markedly above normal in Haryana and east Uttar Pradesh appreciably above normal in Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, above normal in Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 10.4°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of March 4: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Haryana and Punjab, at a few places in west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in north Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in south Rajasthan. Isolated thundersqualls/hailstorms are likely in Haryana and Punjab.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal during the next 24 hours.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of March 4: Partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thundershowers in some areas. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 29°C and 16°C, respectively.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of March 4: Light rain is likely at a few places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
