Heart bids adieu to seniors Ludhiana, February 6 The cultural programme comprising skits, monoacting and songs was interspersed with delightful modern and traditional dances. The comedy highlighted that the people of today believe in ostentatious living, and one-up-manship. The desire to become rich and famous at any cost has taken its toll. In another skit rampant corruption, disregard of peoples’ interest , flagrant misuse of power was depicted. One minute games were arranged to fill the moments with mirth and laughter. All +2 students were felicitated with souvenirs and gifts. This was followed by the patron’s message urging the pupils to follow the path of righteousness. A short prayer service was conducted for the success of every outgoing student. The programme which stole the show was the selection of Mr and Ms Sacred Heart from the group of 20 contestants. The outgoing batch honoured their teachers by presenting mementos and showed gratitude to the workers by presenting gifts. To leave their memories behind the +2 students had purchased a special gift for the school. |
PCTE
Students grab top positions Ludhiana, February 6 The first three positions were bagged by students of the PCTE. Gurpreet Singh, working presently with HDFC Standard Life
Insurance stood first overall among students of MBA 2000 batch by securing 2696 marks out of 3200 (84. 25per cent and has been awarded
university gold medal. Manisha Dhiman and Shilpi Mittal scored 2690 (84 per cent) and 2658 (83 per cent) marks to clinch overall second and third position respectively in the university. Suriti Bali has obtained eight position and Gurpreet Kaur stood 10th in the university. The PCTE recorded 100 per cent placement for the 2000 batch. Dr K. N.S.Kang, Director PCTE, said,” We firmly believe in the fact that there are no shortcuts to
success. The outstanding performance of PCTE students is due to sheer hard work and pursuit of excellence.” |
Defence
Ministry team visits PAU Ludhiana, February 6 A defence official disclosed that the members of the team visited various PAU departments. They had an interactive session with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof K.S. Aulakh, and other professors and teachers of the university. The defence officials, most of whom were of the rank of the Brigadier and above, were very much impressed by the socio-economic progress achieved by Punjab. They evinced keen interest in various developmental projects. |
‘Save
our school’ Ludhiana, February 6 While the Wakf Board claims that the school has defaulted in the payment of rent, the school authorities claimed that the board was not accepting the rent sent to it. In a letter to the Punjab Chief Minister and Education
Minister, the teachers and parents of school students said they had learnt that it was being planned to get the school building vacated and send its students to other schools. They have urged the government to do the needful in this regard. |
