The +1 students of Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar, today organised a farewell function for the outgoing +2 batch. The function was graced by Rt Revd Dr Symphorian Keeprath Bishop of Jalandhar, who is also the patron of the institution. Amidst cheer and applause the +2 students were ushered into the pandal and rose petals were showered on them.

The cultural programme comprising skits, monoacting and songs was interspersed with delightful modern and traditional dances. In another skit rampant corruption, disregard of peoples’ interest , flagrant misuse of power was depicted.

One minute games were arranged to fill the moments with mirth and laughter. All +2 students were felicitated with souvenirs and gifts. The programme which stole the show was the selection of Mr and Ms Sacred Heart from the group of 20 contestants.

Our Correspondent

Ludhiana, February 6
Residents of the Islamia school and teachers of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Islamia Road, which was earlier known as Islamia School, have resented the reported move of the government to cancel the allotment of the Wakf Board property to the school.

While the Wakf Board claims that the school has defaulted in the payment of rent, the school authorities claimed that the board was not accepting the rent sent to it. In a letter to the Punjab Chief Minister and Education Minister, the teachers and parents of school students said they had learnt that it was being planned to get the school building vacated and send its students to other schools. They have urged the government to do the needful in this regard.
