Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell markedly in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, fell in Haryana, Punjab and west Rajasthan, rose in east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were largely below normal in Uttar Pradesh, markedly below normal in Punjab, appreciably below normal in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir, below normal in west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 0.0°C recorded at Churu (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 12: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be dry in the rest of the region.

Low temperature warning: Ground frost will occur at many places in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and at a few places in Rajasthan during the next two nights.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 12: Mainly clear sky with cold day. Fog till forenoon. Minimum temperature will be around 5°C.
