Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Uttar Pradesh, fell in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were appreciably below normal in Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, above normal in east Rajasthan and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 3.4°C recorded at Lucknow.

Forecast valid until the morning of January 9: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Low temperature warning: Ground frost is likely at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh during the next two nights.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 9: Cold day. Fog till forenoon. Mainly clear sky later. Minimum temperature will be around 5°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi forecast valid until the morning of January 9: Sky will be mainly clear.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
