Pak frees 13 militants
Quetta, Pakistan, December 4
Pakistan released 13 activists of outlawed Islamic groups today, including members of two groups fighting Indian rule in the disputed Kashmir region. Officials said the men were freed on the orders of Mr Jam Yousaf, the new Chief Minister of Baluchistan province in the southwest of the country that borders Afghanistan. Of the 13 men released, two were from banned Kashmiri-linked groups Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad and the rest were from a Sunni and a rival Shi’ite Muslim group. Reuters
