4 jawans killed in shootout
Imphal, November 5
Three Manipur Rifles personnel were killed when one of their colleagues, a former ultra, opened fire at Leikun in Chandel district on Monday. The killer too was shot dead. The police on Tuesday said the incident occurred following an altercation over a game of chess inside the battalion headquarters. UNI

7 Buddhist pilgrims die in mishap
Rajgir (Bihar), November 5
Seven Buddhist pilgrims were killed and 25 others injured, five of them seriously, when a tourist bus plunged into a river near Banganga in Bihar’s Nalanda district early Tuesday, the police said. PTI
